Urgency, emergency, security, safety and privacy are the terms best fit for it. This is not the first but one of the best communication apps we have designed keeping our passion and market demand in a single row. Mutual Caller is compact with useful features keeping security at a high.

  • Project Objective and Business Challenge

    Confronting women safety as precedence, Mutual caller Android app offers two vital features to tackle unknown calls and retrieve phone contacts with ease.

    • Mutual caller Android app has an in-built Virtual Caller feature to let users access mobile contacts any time with any other mobile or on the web at www.mutualcaller.com with login username and password.
    • Mutual Caller addresses issues of unknown calls with an ability to identify mutual contacts between the caller and receiver at an instant. And automatically splits unknown calls into two genres –with and without mutual contacts. For a call with mutual contacts, the app displays the number of mutual contacts and lists out details of any two of them

    For ease of caller identification, the app displays different genres in different colours as –

    1. All unknown calls with mutual contact(s) in green (The caller is a known contact).
    2. Calls without mutual contacts in yellow (Low priority and a cautionary approach).
    3. Calls from device contacts in White.
    4. Spam numbers in red.

  • Project Highlights

    The overall experience with this project development was very exciting and self-satisfactory. After official project closing, the real challenge starts. We analysed feasibilities and compiled a Business requirement document. Then we prepared a wireframe with mutual understanding with client. Thereafter, the design started, followed by development and white and black box testing. After getting the user acceptance testing report, we released the final built.

    However, we met with two functional bugs while testing-

    For ease of caller identification, the app displays different genres in different colours as –

    1. The app was taking long time to sync mobile contacts.
    2. Retrieving mobile contacts to web was time consuming.

    Mutual caller is Android and web-based application. Following are the tools and technologies used for the app development-

    1. Mobile App: Android and Java; Data base: SQLite
    2. Web: PHP using Zend framework, HTML5, CSS3; Data base: MySQL
